Grendi Group in Brief

Founded in Genoa in 1828, Grendi Group is a family-run company specializing in maritime transport
and distribution logistics. Grendi offers its commercial partners an integrated suite of logistic solutions for all the islands, central, and southern Italy. The company operates through a network of collection and distribution warehouses and a various fleet, from heavy trucks to vans, ships to trains, all under direct management and control. This logistic model is tailored to meet client needs and carefully designed to handle the specific requirements of each type of cargo.
In 2021, Grendi became the first maritime operator to amend its statute to become a Benefit Company, adding a commitment to positive impact for the environment, employees, clients, suppliers, and communities alongside its financial performance goals.
With its own maritime routes, Grendi offers daily departures from the port of Marina di Carrara to Cagliari and Olbia, supported by exclusive long-term terminal concessions for loading and unloading operations.
Through MITO (Mediterranean Intermodal Terminal Operator), which manages the international container terminal activities in Cagliari, Grendi is revitalizing port logistics in the heart of the Mediterranean for cargo distribution to North African domestic ports. Its innovative LORO2 service offers clients fast access to key destinations within 400 nautical miles, combining the capabilities of
a large container terminal (LOLO) with flexible, fast RORO services. The company operates its own vessels and uses a container cassettes system and dedicated personnel onboard to handle cargo in North African ports, marking a new evolution in RORO and containerized transport.

Grendi Group’s offer include:
1. Full load and groupage transport to Sardinia (containers, trailers, and project cargo);
2. Groupage transport to central and southern Italy through branches and a third-party distribution network;
3. Sardinia maritime routes: from Marina di Carrara (MS) to Cagliari and Olbia with dedicated vessels;
4. Long-term port terminal concessions in Marina di Carrara, Olbia and Cagliari;
5. LORO2 service connecting to North African domestic ports. Grendi also operates an efficient and rapid goods-handling system with cassette (translifter system) technology, maximizing ship space and reducing unloading times, even for heavy, non-containerized goods like marble and lumber. This sustainable and efficient logistics system integrates unitized
cargo, intermodal routes (via land and sea), and optimized, low-impact ship-loading processes.
